Terms of use

The ordinary terms for a publishing site, written to be read rather than to be skipped.

Last updated

By using Dash & Drive you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use the site. Nothing here is sold and no account is created, so the relationship is simply that you are reading something we published.

What the content is

Editorial opinion and analysis, built on specifications that manufacturers publish about their own products. Every specification is linked to its source and dated, and every score is arithmetic over those specifications with the working printed on the page.

We have not tested any product mentioned on this site. That is stated on every commercial page above the first affiliate link, and the methodology page explains exactly what we do instead.

Accuracy, and its limits

  • Specifications are recorded from manufacturer sources on a stated date. Manufacturers revise pages, change warranty terms and discontinue models without notice, so a specification here is a snapshot rather than a permanent fact.
  • Prices change constantly. Any price shown is dated, and the price the retailer shows when you click is the real one.
  • We make no warranty that the site is complete, current or error-free. We do commit to correcting errors promptly and visibly when they are reported — the corrections policy is here.
  • Check anything that matters against the manufacturer before you buy. Every source is linked at the foot of every page, specifically so you can.

What this is not

  • Not professional advice. We are not mechanics, installers, electricians or lawyers.
  • Not medical advice. The comfort section describes product geometry and materials. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it says so on every page.
  • Not legal advice. Where a page mentions rules that vary by state — such as windshield mounting — it tells you to check your own state rather than telling you what the law is.
  • Not installation instructions from a manufacturer. Guides here describe a general process. The manufacturer's own instructions govern, and vehicle electrical work carries real risk. If you are not confident, use a professional.

Your purchases and your car

You are responsible for what you buy and for what you fit to your vehicle. We do not sell anything, we do not handle transactions, and we have no involvement in your purchase beyond the link that sent you to the retailer.

Warranty claims, returns, damage and disputes are between you and the retailer or the manufacturer. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dash & Drive is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from any purchase made through it.

Affiliate relationships

This site earns affiliate commission on qualifying purchases made through its links, at no extra cost to you. That is disclosed on every page that carries such links and in full on the disclosure page.

Links to other sites

We link to manufacturer pages, owner's manuals and retailers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices. Once you leave this site, their terms apply.

Content and copyright

The writing, analysis, scoring rubric and page structure on this site belong to Dash & Drive. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back. Reproducing whole pages, or using the content to train a commercial model as a substitute for the site, is not permitted.

Product names, brand names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification only. Their use does not imply any endorsement of this site by them, or of them by this site.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
